This is community Q&A, your comment should be moved to "Reviews" ==== Anywho, your experience sounds atypical –I've eaten various meals over 5+ visits and never had a problem * i agree prices aren't cheap for featured entrees, but you can always survive with a roast chicken as your base
No
Good Persian food in a fast food style restaurant
Great service, I liked the atmosphere and the tea they are offering at the end.
They always take a really long time, especially because they'll tell me 5-10 minutes when it's actually more like 20-25 min. At least be honest! And the guy who takes orders at night is always rude!
Amazing persian food. Beef and chicken 5 stars!
How is does this plate of almost entirely rice cost $25? Without the side of very tasty yogurt and cucumber it would have been inedible. If you like rice and old bread and good service and have no idea of the value of money this is your place. The ground chicken was apparently tasty and slightly cheaper. Service was excellent.
Racist abusive employees who deprive safe foods and safety for customer. Every time I get food there it’s badly made when I order the foods. Expensive horrible Unsafe food made for me. Chicken undercooked after I paid 12 dollars for tiny chicken pieces that was raw in the middle. Unethical operation. One time a family ordered food for me as I was their guest and the food was amazing except the racist waitress screamed out saying “you are going to give her food????” With an angry face when the waitress was answered that the food plate was for me. Horrible. Rude. Social Cruelty. Discrimination
Great customer service and some of the best ground beef kabobs I've ever had. Highly recommend. Extremely friendly staff and management ✊
In its own league. Why they’re open until 3am no one knows for sure, but the food is top notch
It's the best drunk at 3am place to go eat.
Located in the Campus plaza of UCI, this grill is distinct because of the halal food available here. The setting is nice, oriental in design. The food was very good and sufficient for the person. The price was reasonable as well.
This place is amazing for a few reasons. One being how much get for $11, it’s insane. You can feed a whole family with $15. That same amount of food I have to pay $60 for unless it’s Burger King and even that ends up being $30. The people are always friendly and I love the free tea.
Good food and open until 3! Their ground beef sandwich with a side of taziki sauce is killer. Also the chicken witth hummus is good. Good spot with friendly staff.
Great food full of flavor and great service. If you want authentic Persian food at a reasonable price this is the place to go.
Love love love all their foods!!! So cheap and if you get the whole chicken, it comes with the pita bread and it’s good for 4 peopleI’ll post photos laterWhen we went here around 1am, group of families came and started singing, 1 guy brought his drum and 1 guy brought his other drum. It was so nice, they didn’t know each other but the sound and beat they were both in sync with the song they were playing. Love it.It was fun!****update****06/08/2019Best server his name is PARSA!! If you have him as a server, you don’t mind coming back here. I will give him more tips.
Never order Eggplant stew, it’s not literally Eggplant stew, they would bring you Gheimeh with Eggplant. While the picture in the menu is Eggplant stew. I asked for tea refill, the waiter told me “you personally take the pot and ask for refill, I’m busy”. His excuse was the other customer’s food was getting cold and he didn’t have time to refill the pot. What the hell !? Customers are all the same and same attention is required.
Great food. The bread is amazing. Prices are reasonable and I love this place. It’s open late night too
Authentic Persian/Middle Eastern dishes that don't break the bank! Also a good hangout place to go to after the bar/club hours for some chill time with friends, late night meal and complimentary tea. Also recommend the kalleh pacheh in the mornings 👌🏻
Good Persian food...they always treat me nice there
Great service and big portion food. Price is just right. Tea is free which is perfect for the meal. Food is wonderful! We will definitely go back.
Most food are good except lamb chops; I tried it twice, both times are dry and not much taste, won't order that again.
Really good chicken, large portions, middle East style. Really good tea, and naan bread was hot and fresh. I took the rest home, whatever my dinner date didn't eat, that is..
The owner is super friendly and the food was delicious! I tried #19 (Dizi) and it was very yummy, albeit heavy on the flatbread. Would recommend.
Ground chicken shish kabobs are delicious!
I often find kabobs a bit dry but at this place it's moist and delicious. Grill is a delight to see and the place has a garden style atmosphere for the day or night with late closing hours into the morning. Entrees, snacks, drinks, or share and snack away.
It’s a small cozy restaurant at the corner of the plaza but it really worth to check it more often if you are living around. We came from miami and our friends took us there. We tried kabab and Abgosht and both were awesome. The bread that they serve with the food was incredibly good. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻THEIR FOODS ARE SO DELICIOUS 😋
I really like this place. The people are really nice and the food is delicious.
Love the food and service. Courteous staff and wonderful food. I have been a fan since 2008!
Big selection of great chicken dishes. Friendly service and nice atmosphere. good prices. I love eating here and recommend to all.
Perfect place for schools students and if you want a place to enjoy late night meals. Outdoor sitting arrangement make it a perfect combo. It's not a fine dining place but price+quantity+quality combo makes it great
Hands down best rotisserie chicken in the area. Plus, their Persian dishes are delish!
I've eaten at this Persian eatery twice while traveling to Irvine, both time great experience. This is not a fancy restaurant by any standard, but you can eat many tasty Persian dishes. The food comes out very fast.
We were in town from Washington DC and we tried their dizi. Best dizi ever and the restaurant manager was very hospitable and ensured that we were satisfied with the food. He even offered us free tea after our dizi. Even their tea was great. 100% recommend this place when in Irvine.
The food was very delicious, had the mix grill 😉
Don’t recommend this place for good Persian Food. Place is NOT clean at all special during this COVID-19.
3rd time must be the charm as the food was delicious and the service was excellent this time around, hence the upgrade from 3 to 5 stars from me. I am updating this review as of 06-01-19. I recommend the #11 ( ground beef ) But mention 1/2 rice + 1/2 salad. Each meal comes with a large tandoori/pita bread. No reservation is needed but expect to wait 1/2 hour - it gets packed!
I love the boneless chicken and chicken combo. Large portions: lots of meat, rice, comes with giant piece of naan. It's slightly pricey, but there's definitely a ton of food. There's also student discounts :)
Excellent authentic Persian food, nice music & ambience. Great customer service. Definitely recommend this wonderful Persian experience .
I do not recommend this place. The food is bad and service is horrible.
I hope the owner reads my review. I noticed many people complained about the owner at cashier with glasses and white hair very rude behavior. He's not the owner. I had the same experience last w times when i went there. Mr owner you should not have this person as your first person greeting, taking care, and handling your customers and restaurant. I used to love going there at least once or twice. The food is not the same. Kaleh pache omelet kabobs are not the same. And god forbid if you say something. This guy wants to rip you apart like take it or leave it!!!!That's it for me. And I'm sorry to say that the only hood thing left there is the bread. I hope you reconsider and hire someone to know what customer service means and fix the quality to what was before.
Excellent authentic Persian food. Go for the "Dizzy", a kind of very healthy stew with lamb. Go with an Iranians friend yo show you how to eat Dizzy. I found out how, a few years back, then took several groups for Dizzy since. The fresh flat bread is nothing you have experienced before.Excellent Service, very nice and relaxed patio sitting with water fountain.
OUTSTANDING! Hen House is owned by an amazing man. He's genuinely nice and cares for all his customers. Food is fresh and tasty. Prices are reasonable and portions are huge! I'm always a returning customer and usually come here every week with coworkers.
Try their Dizi! The best food they have! Get the Torshi with it and after your food enjoy your free black tea (as many as you want). Their homemade bread is also great! Sometimes I get an extra bread and take home for myself! You can easily freeze it and toast it in your oven and have it with your food! My second favorite food in Hen House is their Sausage Sandwich, which is a BBQ Sausage with Ketchup, pickles, etc... The prices are reasonable, too!
I simply enjoyed their dishes. I always get excellent service there. The place is well kept and the staff members are always very welcoming. Keep up the good work.
I admire this venue a lot. It has a very special feeling. The kitcen is exeptionaly good. the service is powerful and the stuff is trained. The cost is satisfactory. I warmly recommend.
Fantastic place for persian food. Thats a picture of my Kaleh Pacheh dish, a persian delicacy that is difficult to make and have it taste good. They are superb at it!
Nice place for Persian BBQ, I don't like there Persian curry dishes, there prices are higher than other Persian places in the area.
Iranian Restaurant. We had 2 dishes. The taste is good. The quantities are good. The place is tiny With an attached semi open seating area in the back. We sat outside; on the curb. The price is higher than Mission Ranch Market Restaurant. I’d rather go to either Mission Ranch or Luna Grill for Persian food.
Amazing food, excellent service! You've got to try their tongue sandwich. It tastes absolutely delicious! Special thanks for the great customer service from Mona.
Technically a 3.5 but they get 0.5 bonus for amazing bread
Great place. Bang for the buck is amazing. Very nicr owner who loves soccer. I love the chicken curry and the grilled chicken, but most of the dishes are good. They have a wonderful unleavened bread.
